What is the CDA?
The Child Development Associate program is designed for preschool teachers and other childcare workers who want to learn the fundamental principles of early childhood education. The courses in this program are intended to give students the training and formal advisor observation needed for a CDA Credential. This course includes formal instruction, formal observation and assistance in completing your resource file.

What are the eligibility requirements?
     • Must be 18 years of age
     • Must have a high school diploma or GED
     • Must be working with or plan to work with children

What are the major program components?
     • Formal Instruction: 120 hours
     • Field Experience: 480 hours
     • Resource File
     • Formal Observation
     • Parent Questionnaires
     • Final Assessment

What is a resource file?
The professional resource file is a collection of materials that early childhood professionals use when working with their families and children in their center.  This course will assist the CDA candidate with this required component of the CDA Credential.  Students will receive guidance in writing the competency goals and collecting the necessary items to ensure they have a successful resource file.

What are the program fees?
     • Module Fee: $1300 ($325 per module)
     • Book & Materials Fee: $45
     • Registration Fee: $25
     • Final Assessment/Verification Fee: $325

What are my payment options?
Tuition may be paid in full or in four payments.  The first payment is due with initial registration.  The next three payments are due before each new modular begins.  Final Assessment fee is paid to the Council for Professional Recognition after the course is completed and you are ready to apply for the final assessment.
